San Jose, Calif. Nov 2, 2006--Prosurg Inc announced plan to introduction of New Products Zipper™ Mini- Sling and Imagel™ Gel Injection System for Breast & Uterine Fibroid Ablation Treatment during upcoming AAGL – Global Congress of Minimally Invasive surgery meeting in Las Vegas, Nov 6-8,2006
The New products are designed in cooperation with leading gynecologists and uro-gynecologist to provide safe, cost effective, minimally invasive treatment option for millions of women all over the world. The Zipper™ Mini-Sling and Zipper Min-Sling Plus products consists of single use, urethral support device manufactured from biocompatible polypropylene mesh and self anchoring bioabsorbable fixation ends. The Mini-Sling can be implanted for treatment of female urinary incontinence, using minimally invasive procedure, only with local or regional anesthesia in physician’s office. The Zipper Mini-Sling products are available as a single use, procedure kit with polypropylene mesh sling and introducer tool .It is also available as Mini-Sling Plus model to provide wider urethral support The Mini-Sling can be inserted, using introducer tool and can be positioned securely with self anchoring fixation end tabs.
The Imagel™ – Gel Injection System for Uterine Fibroid Ablation Treatment is a novel, minimally invasive treatment option for millions of women who are potential candidates for hysterectomy. The current surgical treatment options for uterine fibroids are limited to endoscopic resection, myomectomy and hysterectomy. The Imagel – Gel Injection treatment under Ultrasound Imaging Guidance represent significant technological breakthrough and a promising option for Breast & Uterine Fibroid Treatment. The Imagel treatment consists of injecting proprietary Gel formulation directly into vasculature surrounding uterine fibroids, under “Real Time” Ultrasound / Doppler Imaging guidance. The Sclerosing Gel formulation, upon controlled destruction of blood vessels feeding the target fibroid results into reduction in bleeding disorder and fibroid shrinkage. The Imagel –Gel Injection treatment has received CE Mark approval for marketing in European Union.
